2023 Honda CR-V – The new generation of Honda’s best-selling vehicle is on the road, and according to the latest reports, it will debut in 2022 as the Honda CR-V 2023. Given that the present generation is still one of the best in its class, we can assume that Honda engineers will refrain from over-experimenting and that the majority of the adjustments will be evolutionary. This applies to the entire vehicle, including the powertrain, which should generally remain unchanged. Even though it is still completely camouflaged, the test mule has already been detected. However, we can see that the new model will have a little larger body, as well as a more aggressive attitude. Of course, the all-new styling will be included, just as it was with the previous model.
The current generation of Honda’s compact crossover has set some very high expectations, so it’s no surprise that the new model has a lot to live up to. According to what we know so far, the new Honda CR-V will be based on the same platform as the new 11th-generation Civic. A longer wheelbase is expected, allowing the business to install three rows of seats on the inside. In addition, the new platform will have other benefits, such as a reduced center of gravity. This, together with the updated suspension configuration, will undoubtedly improve handling and overall ride quality. Nonetheless, we are confident that the new model will prioritize comfort.
2023 Honda CR-V Exterior and Interior
The test mule has been observed on the road, as we just mentioned. We can’t discuss more precise styling aspects because it’s currently camouflaged. Still, we expect the next model to have a more refined design approach and a more mature appearance. According on what we can see on the test mule, the new generation will be larger. It will have larger dimensions, as well as a longer bonnet, making this crossover look sportier than before. The wheelbase should be increased by a few inches, and the back overhang appears to be reasonable. All of this suggests that we can expect larger interior space, but more on that later.
The interior space of the 2023 Honda CR-V should be discussed first. Given the extended wheelbase, we expect additional passenger room, despite the fact that the existing model is already rather outstanding in this regard. The addition of the optional third row will be the most significant benefit of this size increase. As a result, the CR-V will get an extra point in the super-competitive competition and will become one of the few models in the class that can seat seven people.

2023 Honda CR-V Engines
We don’t think the next-generation Honda CR-V, due in 2023, will bring any significant alterations to the engine. As a result, base versions should keep the 1.5-liter turbo-four engine, which currently produces 190 horsepower and could be significantly enhanced for this event. This engine is paired with a CVT transmission and offers great fuel economy, averaging around 28 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the interstate.
Of course, a hybrid version is available, which employs the same technology as the Honda Accord hybrid, combining a 2.0-liter inline-four with a pair of electric motors. The combined output is roughly 212 horsepower, with an average fuel economy of 40 miles per gallon in the city and 35 miles per gallon on the highway.
2023 Honda CR-V Release Date and Price
The next-generation 2023 Honda CR-V is expected to join the market in the second half of 2022, with a starting price of roughly $27,000. Toyota RAV4, Nissan Rogue, Subaru Forester, and other vehicles will be key competitors.
