2023 Ford Mustang S650 – The S650 project was expected to be delayed until 2026. That isn’t the case any longer. According to trustworthy sources, the Ford Mustang S650 will be released in 2023. It’ll be built in Flat Rock, Michigan, and it’ll be the seventh-generation Mustang.
The problem is, no one knows what to expect from the next-generation Mustang. For starters, we believe that electrification is a necessary. Ford has patented a hybrid V8 engine with two electric motors driving the front wheels. This indicates that all-wheel drive will be standard. The first spy photos have now been released. The new Mustang GT is clearly based on the old S550, and here’s all you need to know about it.
2023 Ford Mustang S650 Spy Photos
The front end of the 2023 Ford Mustang S650 prototype is lightly camouflaged. Furthermore, the front fascia will include some of the features found on the current model. The redesigned Mach 1 has a lower splitter and side skirts. The GT and EcoBoost models also have a dual-tip exhaust as an option. The wheels are easily identifiable as being from the Mach 1 Handling Pack.
Perhaps the most amazing aspect of this prototype is the implementation of the back brakes. The “normal” Mustang GT has a tiny rear caliper on the “back” of the rotor, but this prototype has a much larger caliper on the “forward” end. It also has a little parking brake on the back.
2023 Ford Mustang S650 Engine
We don’t know which engine will power the new Ford Mustang S650 in 2023 yet. However, some details may hint at what the pony car range may look like in the future. The base engine is believed to be the 2.3-liter EcoBoost unit from the F-150, augmented by Ford’s PowerBoost hybrid technology. The 5.0L V8 is expected to remain in the range, although it will now be offered as a mid-level powertrain.
This engine, on the other hand, will come with a manual transmission, which is fantastic news. Some enthusiasts, though, may be disappointed with the top-of-the-line engine, which is rumored to be a 3.5L PowerBoost Hybrid V6. Although this unit performs nicely in the F-150, many consumers expected greater power.
