2023 MINI Hardtop – The 2023 MINI Hardtop (formerly known as the Mini Cooper) is Mini’s famous vehicle. It’s the most well-known Mini model, but because to its small size, it’s not ideal for everyone. Mini, fortunately, has a variety of variants that can accommodate both freight and passengers. The 2023 MINI Hardtop, a hatchback/wagon with more capacity than the four-door Hardtop but without the extra weight and height of the Countryman, is one of them.
Unlike the Hardtop and Countryman, which both come standard with a three-cylinder engine, the 2023 MINI Hardtop is only available in flaming and blazing colors. Whatever you create, it’s a little automobile that’s sporty and thrilling. It’s especially true if you choose the manual transmission, which will be available in 2021. Read Edmunds’ expert review to see how the 2023 MINI Hardtop stacks up against the competition. The Mini Clubman competes with other hot deals from Honda, Hyundai, and Volkswagen.
2023 MINI Hardtop Design and Build
It’s clear from the outside that the 2023 MINI Hardtop is still a MINI, despite the fact that it’s a large car that’s roughly identical in size and height to the Volkswagen Golf or Ford Focus. The model’s alterations are minor, with the most noticeable being the reworking of the grille, which now covers the whole front end. The air intake has a smaller design, giving the front view a more edgy appearance. A narrow frame formed of a single component surrounds the grille. There are also LED-lit circular headlamps that have been redesigned.
This car is distinguished from a comparable model by two separate side-hinged split rear “Club doors.” They may be opened with a dual-section chrome handle or with the ‘Comfort Access function,’ which allows you to open them simply by resting your foot beneath the bumper while walking towards the car with your keys in your pocket and your bags loaded.
Luggage storage capacity is 360 liters on the inside. If that wasn’t enough, flattening the backbench frees up 1250 liters of space that no MINI model has ever had. Now is the time to get moving. Due to the design, which is different but similar, there are numerous impressions for individuals who have a thorough understanding of modern MINIs. Good door armrests and, for the first time in a MINI, a central console extend into the dashboard, giving it a more adult appearance inside.
If it weren’t for the traditional MINI characteristics like the column-mounted dials, the row of switches beneath the vent controls, the configurable interior lighting shades, and, of course, the giant circular display that adorns the central stack, you might be able to claim a BMW-like sensation.
2023 MINI Hardtop Engine and Transmission
Each model of the 2023 MINI Hardtop is powered by the same engine. The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine in the MINI Hardtop line produces 189 horsepower and 207 pound-feet of torque. While many manufacturers are gradually phasing out manual transmissions, Mini still offers it. Six-speed manual transmissions are standard on the front-wheel-drive Classic model, with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission costing $1,500 extra.
The Signature trim allows you to pick between dual-clutch and manual transmissions without incurring additional expenditures. A silky-smooth eight-speed automatic is standard on ALL4 versions. The 2023 MINI Hardtop with front-wheel drive weighs about 350 pounds heavier than the heaviest four-door hardtop. As a result, there will always be a large performance disparity.
However, the difference isn’t significant. The available power is sufficient to provide a pleasurable driving experience. Drivers will appreciate the choice of a manual transmission. While the dual-clutch transmission is likely to shift faster, it lacks the range of engagement that a manual transmission may provide.
According to the EPA, the 2023 MINI Hardtop achieves 25 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway. All-wheel-drive vehicles have a somewhat worse fuel economy, achieving 23 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the interstate. We got 27 mpg in our test using a 2023 MINI Hardtop that we drove. Visit the EPA’s website for more information on the Clubman’s fuel efficiency.
Mini comes with a number of appealing driver aid options. Unfortunately, blind-spot monitoring isn’t included in the list of options. Visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) websites for more information on the Clubman’s crash tests. The following are important safety features:
- Standard forward-collision warning system with automatic emergency brakes
- Standard warning for lane departures
- There is an adaptive option for cruise control
2023 MINI Hardtop Price
Use the 2023 MINI Hardtop on the low end of the scale, and you’ll get a great price-to-value ratio, with prices starting around PS23,005 for a Cooper and PS26,215 for the Cooper S, which we wouldn’t recommend.
This variant, the John Cooper Works, has a significant price premium, costing roughly PS35,515. However, it would be beneficial if you were cautious about selecting too many packs, as this may quickly drive up the Mini’s price.
