Land Rover has only made a few alterations to its Discovery lineup since the mid-cycle facelift in 2021. With the release of the 2023 Discovery, a new top-of-the-line grade known as the Metropolitan Edition will change that.
2023 Land Rover Discovery Metropolitan Edition Exterior
The Discovery Metropolitan is a seven-seat crossover that combines several popular aesthetic and technology characteristics into a single vehicle. With silver highlights on the grille and “DISCOVERY” inscription on the back, it’s based on the Discovery R-Dynamic HSE. The front and back fascias’ bottom parts are also silver, giving them the appearance of metal skid plates. A set of 22-inch wheels with gloss gray trim and black brake calipers complete the exterior changes.

2023 Land Rover Discovery Metropolitan Edition Interior
The interior of the Discovery Metropolitan has a titanium coating on the dash and steering wheel. Among the many standard features are a head-up display, heated steering wheel, and heated seats (including for third row). Four-zone climate control and a chiller compartment are also included on the list of features.
2023 Land Rover Discovery Metropolitan Edition Powertrain
355 horsepower is produced by the Discovery’s top-of-the-line 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-6 and mild-hybrid powertrain. A starter motor and generator in the mild-hybrid component can aid the engine during high loads and gather energy during braking and coasting. The base engine in the Discovery series is a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 that produces 296 horsepower. All variants have all-wheel drive as standard, and the maximum towing capacity is 8,200 pounds (if properly outfitted).
2023 Land Rover Discovery Metropolitan Edition Release Date & Price
Land Rover has not said when deliveries would begin, despite the fact that the order books are open. The Discovery Metropolitan starts at $57,950, with a minimum price of $76,650. Both rates include a $1,350 destination fee.
